Turning a PPAI Expo Booth Into Charity
Essent has donated most of its 2020 PPAI Expo booth to help charity and the environment.
"When we were looking for innovative ways to improve our show logistics and we learned of the opportunity to donate to Kids In Need, it was a perfect fit."
Essent donated a TV and furniture from its Expo booth to the Kids In Need Foundation, which provides school supplies to financially distressed schools. It’s the second consecutive year that Essent has donated to the Foundation.
The donations also help reduce the Essent carbon footprint. Rather than ship a booth across the country and back, Essent is able to purchase items closer to the show and then donate them to an organization who can keep them closer to the show.
"When we were looking for innovative ways to improve our show logistics and we learned of the opportunity to donate to Kids In Need, it was a perfect fit,” said Essent Marketing Coordinator Doug Brill, who manages Essent tradeshows. "Children benefit, the environment benefits, and from a bottom-line perspective the donation is more cost-effective than storing and shipping the booth time after time and year after year. It’s a win-win-win.
PPAI has supported the Kids In Need Foundation since 2007, and Kids In Need is present at each Expo ready to accept items.
The Foundation has a table at every PPAI Expo where donors can get a form to list items to donate, and their value. Donors then place stickers on the items they want to donate and leave the items behind at their booth once the show ends. Kids In Need representatives then come to pick the items up.
