What's New
Upgrades included in Product Data 2.0 are:
Location and Decoration: The PromoStandards Product Data 2.0 endpoint includes summary information for decoration locations and decoration methods. This includes the maximum imprint colors, if the price includes a decoration, and what the default location/decoration combination is the default for the product.
Pricing: The enhanced endpoint now accounts for pricing for groups of products. For example, a group can include shirts XS to 2XL at one price and another group can include shirts 3XL and up for another price.
Decoration Charges: Default setup charges and run charges now can be communicated.
Shipping information: Shipping information for Free on Board, the rules that govern who becomes responsible for a product when during shipping, is included in the Product Data 2.0 endpoint.
Enhanced clarity: It’s easier to understand the standard product, with information for the standard product color and the standard product image.
More simplicity: Information that previously was only available from the Media Content, Product Pricing & Configuration (PPC), endpoints is included in the Product Data 2.0 endpoint. Consumers requiring summary or simplified information can now use one endpoint for their basic product data needs. Full and granular data is still available in the PPC and Media Content endpoints and can be used as needed.
More: The endpoint provides a default image and primary color and adds a standard color name, which help identify colors when the color isn’t obvious from its name.
Best of Both Endpoints
Suppliers and manufacturers can simultaneously offer the enhanced Product Data 2.0 endpoint and the previous Product Data 1.0.0 endpoint. This way suppliers and manufacturers are offering the latest enhanced version, while also retaining the previous version for distributors and service providers who still wish to use it.
For those who already have a PromoStandards Product Data endpoint on OrderTrax: Essent can use its Fast-Track integration service to enhance the current Product Data file so that it can feed both the existing Product Data 1.0.0 endpoint and the Product Data 2.0 endpoint.
For those who use OrderTrax but don’t have a Product Data endpoint: Essent can use its Fast-Track, Standard, or Custom integration services to implement Product Data 2.0 and Product Data 1.0.0 endpoints in a fashion familiar to how the other endpoints on OrderTrax were implemented.
For those who are new to OrderTrax: Essent can use its Fast-Track, Standard, or Custom integration services to implement Product Data 2.0, Product Data 1.0.0, and/or other PromoStandards endpoints more efficiently and cost-effectively than other integration services providers.
Those interested in implementing PromoStandards Product Data 2.0 or other endpoints can contact Essent to get started.
The Essent® OrderTrax® Network now supports PromoStandards Product Data 2.0, the latest version of the integration endpoint that accounts for decoration information, color information, and pricing details including quantity-based pricing and charges.
The PromoStandards Product Data 2.0 integration endpoint is available via the Essent OrderTrax Network, the leading integration network in the promotional products industry. Suppliers and manufacturers can implement the endpoint via OrderTrax using the PromoStandards protocol and make the enhanced Product Data information available for credentialed distributors and service providers to view.
The upgrade to Product Data 2.0 better matches the real-world logistics by accounting for a wider variety of product decoration and pricing information. The endpoint also becomes easier for distributors to use by providing information that previously was only available from other endpoints like Media Content, Product Pricing & Configuration, and Product Compliance.
"Product Data integration via the OrderTrax Network already provided distributors instant access at any time to the product information they most need to know before purchasing. Product Data 2.0 goes further by accounting for details that distributors ask and suppliers answer every day, like where and how a product can be decorated and the cost for certain quantities and certain decorations. It’s the fullest picture yet for decorated products, and it’s all communicated automatically via OrderTrax,” said Marco Pena, Business Development Manager for Essent.
The Essent OrderTrax Network represents the easiest, most efficient way to implement PromoStandards Product Data 2.0, either as a second Product Data endpoint, a first Product Data endpoint, or for companies entirely new to OrderTrax.
Essent is a founding member of PromoStandards and co-authors the integration protocols.
Inventory, Order Status, Order Shipment Notification, Product Data, Media Content, Invoices, Purchase Orders, Product Pricing & Configuration, and Product Compliance can be shared via OrderTrax using PromoStandards.
