Attention TAG Switch 1.5 customers and OrderTrax Network™ customers that have trading partners using the TAG Switch 1.5 software – Support for trading documents on the OrderTrax Network with TAG Switch 1.5 ends March 31st, 2015.
What does this mean to you?
TAG Switch 1.5 users will no longer be able to send and receive documents through the OrderTrax Network. This includes the ability to trade electronic documents such as Purchase Orders, Order Status Notifications, and Advanced Shipment Notices with your Trading Partners.
Conversely, OrderTrax customers who use a newer version of TAG Switch or other integration methods will no longer be able to trade electronic documents with TAG Switch 1.5 users who do not upgrade. Electronic document sharing will only be affected in cases where one of the trading partners is using TAG Switch 1.5.
Otherwise, anyone using a newer version of TAG Switch or other integration is unaffected. OrderTrax Portal™ users are also unaffected.
How can I tell if I’m using TAG Switch 1.5?
OrderTrax Trading Partners can navigate their C: Drive to check which TAG Switch is used. Essent provides simple instructions for checking.
If you remain unsure of the integration method you use, contact your representative today by calling 800-559-9959 or by email.
What you can do about it?
TAG Switch 1.5 Trading Partners are required to upgrade to a newer version of the TAG Switch software to continue using the OrderTrax Network. The upgrade is free with an OrderTrax subscription.
If you have a current OrderTrax Network subscription and use TAG Switch 1.5, contact Essent Support to schedule a free upgrade to a current version of the TAG Switch software.
If you do not have a current OrderTrax Network subscription and you do use TAG Switch 1.5, contact Essent to subscribe to the network.
If you are unsure whether a trading partner uses TAG Switch 1.5, contact Essent.
What are the benefits of upgrading?
Upgrading now will give you continued access to support, product updates, and valuable add-on products and services which may be important to your business. It will also bring you new enhancements and features that have been added since your version was released. For example, TAG Switch 2.0 users are able to trade additional types of electronic documents such as electronic invoices.
Why is Essent retiring TAG Switch 1.5?
TAG Switch 1.5 was introduced in 2002 and will be 13 years old at its retirement. In the world of technology, it’s ancient. There are newer and improved versions of the TAG Switch that are available.
TAG Switch 1.5 does not support the trading of invoices and other electronic document types that many OrderTrax Network customers would like to trade. Retiring the aging technology positions the OrderTrax Network for upgrades that cannot be accommodated by TAG Switch 1.5.
